On a backpacking trip 2012 from Rio to Santiago de Chile I passed through Paraguay. The bus trip from Asunción through the hot scrublands of the sparsely populated Chaco towards Santa Cruz in Bolivia seemed endless and boring. Then, in the middle of nowhere, after almost 10 hours since we left Asunción, there was a German sign along the road, pointing to the left,  reading: Neuland, new territories in German. I love discovering new territories.
